A Season to Fall For: My First Fall Outfit of the Season

It's finally getting chilly in my city! And for SoCal, chilly is like, 71 degrees. Cold is 64. Freezing is anywhere 50 and lower. I know, we SoCalians are such wimps. But because there was a bite in the air today, I was able to bust out the jeans, combat boots, and long sleeved top! I haven't worn these beloved boots of mine since August, and that's just heartbreaking.
So I decided to celebrate such a celebratory worthy day, an outfit of the day post in front of the pond at my college would do it justice. My wonderful friend Nicholas (aka Nicholai) took these photos for me after I explained countless amount of times that yes, I indeed have a fashion blog, and yes, I know that I slouch and have bad posture.

I got this buttoned up sheer blouse from Marshalls this past Friday. It's from the brand Mine, and I absolutely loved the casualness of it, the simplicity, and the fact that you could dress it up or dress it down so incredibly easily. It's definitely a top you can where wherever and whenever you want. I love that you can roll the sleeves up to give it a more laid back feel as well, like I did today.
The blouse also has a high-low thing going on, so I simply tucked in the front of the shirt to accentuate the length in the back.
You can never, ever, go wrong with Steve Madden. These combat boots are from his junior targeted brand, Madden Girl, and they are the brown Zorrba boots. These are my absolute favorite boots of all time, not only because they are insanely cute and go well with a majority of my outfits, but because they are extremely comfy as well. I also love the option of being able to fold them down to reveal a fun, purple plaid detail on the interior of the boots.

Jeans are from the brand Bullhead purchased at PacSun. Bullhead jeans are my absolute favorite brand, and yes, they beat out 7 For All Man Kind, True Religions, Frankie B., and all the other high end jeans you can think of. These fit so adequate to my slightly petite body and are extraordinarily comfortable. I never, ever, sleep in jeans, but I probably could if I were wearing these. But I prefer no jeans at all.

What This Blog Is About

Hello! My name is Caroline, and I am from Sunny California! I developed a passion for beauty during 2009, and ever since then, I've truly become the ultimate beauty nerd. Really. My two favorite places are Sephora and Comic-Con. It also ignited my love for fashion, which lead me to creating this blog. Here I'll post outfits that represents my individual characteristics: Class, Simplicity, and Polished, always topped off with a pinch of femininity. I hope you guys enjoy my posts, and maybe even gain some inspiration. As for my blog name, the majority of fashion bloggers I follow tend to be petite. Although I too could be considered petite, when compared to them, I think, "There's no way I'm petite." Hence, the name of my blog was born. I'm not petite, I'm just small. Simple as that.

Today Sheer Is Beautiful: Lace & Green

Hi everyone! So this is my very first fashion post. I really hope I can stay consistent with this. Today I reunited with one of my high school best friends, Megan. She moved to Montana at the end of our Junior year of high school, and broke not only the majority of the boys in our classes hearts, but mine as well. Today though, she came back for a visit, and after a year and a half of not seeing her beautiful face, you can only imagine how ecstatic I was to be embraced in her arms for the first time in what felt like forever. After I was able to spend a couple hours with the beautiful Megan (which was not merely enough), I went to a concert with my sister. Colbie Calliet and Gavin Degraw were headlining at a beautiful venue that's a minute walk from the bay. The weather was beautiful (but so hot), and it was the absolute perfect location to capture some pictures of my outfit. My kind sister was willing to take photos of me for my very first fashion blog post, so, here I go.

I got both the blouse and skirt from a BCBG Outlet for 9 dollars each. They are both from the brand Lola which is just a brand sold within BCBG. The skirt is a size small, and the top is a size large. The only available sizes left for the blouse was either an x-small or the large, and because I feel more comfortable in loosely fitted clothing, I opted for the large. I absolutely adore the lace detail on the back of the blush colored blouse, and am completely content with how it drapes. I'm actually quite glad that I got it in a large, for I feel I have more options when styling the top, and also it's not unreasonably cropped (like the x-small was) and exposing my tummy in an unflattering manner. I also love the pop of color the skirts gives to the entire outfit. I tucked the front of the shirt into the skirt to give it that more casual feel, and I added a skinny waist belt for a little bit of detail.

I added gold jewlerly to match the shoes and make the outfit a little bit more coordinated. I decided to wear these Jessica Simpson wedges for comfort, but I love the height it gives me.
